Gladiator Bot (v. 0.95) ::: Gladiator Bot Website
The Gladiator bot is currently the best Quake II bot available, featuring a variety of bots to compete against which each have their own personality. They will even respond to each other and the player during a conversation! If you're currently using the CRBot or Eraser then I'd highly suggest you try out the Gladiator... you won't be disappointed!

Capture the Flag (v. 1.50)
This is the original Threewave Capture the Flag, now reaching version 1.50. You'll need to firstly install version 1.00, then upgrade it to 1.50.
The premise behind CTF is pitting two teams (red and blue) against each other in custom CTF levels. The idea is to capture the other team's flag and bring it back to your base to score a capture - but you can't make a capture unless your flag is still in base, hence it brings about a huge element of teamwork and strategy, assigning players to offence / defence and guarding the flag carrier. Definitely one of the best clan games possible!

Generations (v. 0.98b) ::: Generations Website
Generations was an excellent mod, a "tribute to id Software", that combined Wolf3d, Doom, Quake and Quake 2 into a single Quake 2 mod permitting players to show the wolf guy exactly what a "real" gun feels like =). It was all ready to go on this month's issue of Uncovered when id Software contacted the team about the legality of using textures and materials from other games, and how much trouble id would get in from their previous publishers if they allowed them to continue. The Generations team therefore voluntarily ceased work on the mod, and took the installation files off the web. This was very sad news indeed, as the entire team put a LOT of effort into the mod. But, as the site notes, it was only due to a communication breakdown between id and the team that caused it to be started in the first place. The team stresses that id had their hands tied and could not do anything about the issue, which is very true.
Expect some more information about the mod in an upcoming issue to give you all a chance to see what you missed out on for not having 'net access to grab it while it was still available :).
