Sometimes, similar looking images are hard to tell apart when looking at small thumbnail pictures. The small scale also makes it difficult to judge, whether images may need enhancing.
To temporarily increase the size of the current thumbnail picture:
Select an image on the workspace.
Click the Zoom button on the toolbar, then choose a zoom factor. (You can also press Ctrl and æ+Æ as often as necessary.)
While the Zoom panel is open, click on any other images on the workspace.
To stop the zoom action, close the Zoom panel.
StudioLine has an extensive suite of tools to manipulate, optimize or enhance your picture as well as special graphics effects. Tools may be applied to one or multiple images. Tools and their settings can be copied to other pictures that require the same treatment.
To view the available tools, choose Image Tools from the Edit menu.
A description of the image toolbox and its tools may be found in the Reference Guide chapter Image Toolbox Panel.
For illustrated, step-by-step instructions, use the QuickStep function Edit.
After applying image tools, you can verify the results in the Image Viewer.
Choose Image Viewer from the Context menu or double-click the image on the workspace.
Resize the Image Viewer panel by dragging its sizing handle in the bottom right corner.
Choose a scaling factor to suite your needs.
Press the Active Image Tools button to toggle between a display of the image with and without the tools applied.
As an image collection is rapidly expanding, it becomes increasingly difficult to locate images even in well thought-out folder structures. Therefore it is a good practice to supply descriptive information, such as name, title and description, for all images as soon as they are imported into StudioLine. Some digital cameras may even add their own descriptor values for exposure settings and other technical data.
Descriptors permit a user to sort, categorize and search for images by any number of classifications. They are also displayed in slide-shows or become headlines and captions in web-galleries.
To review or add descriptive information, choose Descriptors from the Edit menu. Press the F1 button on your keyboard for instructions how to use this panel.
Like other settings, image descriptors may be applied to other images by dragging the copy button. This is useful when importing a series of images that have a mostly identical descriptive information.
