Descriptive information should always be entered when pictures are added to the Image Archive. Browsers can use it to display pop-up information about an image, or in place of slow-loading pictures. On image view pages, image descriptors automatically fill in placeholders such as image titles, captions and copyright information. In addition, image descriptors help the StudioLine search engine to find pictures.
As an image collection is rapidly expanding, it becomes increasingly difficult to locate images even in well thought-out folder structures. Liberal use of descriptors permit a user to sort, categorize and search for images by any number of classifications, including location, occasion, subject shown, photographer û just to name a few.
To add descriptive information:
Choose Image Descriptors from the Edit menu.
Select and fill in the existing descriptors, e.g., image header, description and name.
Use the Add button to create and enter further classifications.
Like other settings, image descriptors may be applied to other images by dragging the copy button.
