Adam Pierce

"Note that the older symphony orchestra was ... a machine of separate instruments that gave the effect of organic unity. With the electronic instrument, one starts with organic unity as an immediate fact of perfect synchronisation. This makes the attempt to create the effect of organic unity quite pointless. Electronic music must seek other goals."

What people are saying:

Track: Barbecued Crickets
Album: Chewed Up and Spat Out

Artist: 5000 Fingers Of Dr T

"This one HAS had some work done on the packaging and IS in the shops. This track shows us Dr T's trademark sonic skills and cute electro rhythm style - more like a pulse than a beat, unlike their live set which just goes to show you what Renaissance Men they are."

General blurb

Formed in 1994 by Sydneysiders Jasper Russell and Adam Pierce, 5000 Fingers have become regular fixture in the Sydney underground techno scene. Their musical development has taken them from their roots in funky, acidic techno through to ambient, weird and recent interventions into junglist electronica.

Adam and Jasper both have a lengthy history in the electronic arts and computing industry. Adam was one of Australia's first video game software designers while still only in High School and Jasper also brings experience working in the computing industry to his compositions. The 5000 Fingers draw out a distinctly electronic feel to their tracks, from flowing ambient electronica to up-tempo hypnotic techno.
