What is New in FruityLoops 3.5

This is a list of the important new features in FruityLoops 3.5. For a complete list of new features (and bugfixes) in this and older FruityLoops releases, please check WhatsNew.doc in the FruityLoops root folder.

In order to improve FruityLoops for better usability and feature set, the 3.5 release includes several changes that might be incompatible with some older projects (created in FruityLoops 3.4 or earlier). See the Compatibility with Older Projects page for more information on the issue.

Major new features:

• FruityLoops now available as a VSTi plugin.
• Multi ASIO output added.
• Copy, paste, save & restore automation now supported.
• Support for speech synthesis (see *.SPEECH presets).
• New advanced quantization in the Piano Roll.
• New advanced pattern-based chopper in the Piano Roll.
• Improved channel envelopes (tension).
• Added batch export of effects tracks into separate wave files.
• New step edit mode.
• New Time Panel.
• Much improved (but not entirely compatible) TS404 generator.
• Fruity wrappers now support DXi2 plugins.
• Added support for custom MIDI controllers.
• Improved Browser (right-click menu, additional functions).
• Improved Step Sequencer.

Other new features:

• Added recording countdown.
• Improved sinc interpolation.
• Improved hermite interpolation (now 6 points).
• Time in seconds now displayed by the Playlist window (in the hint bar).
• Right-click the metronome switch for another tick sound.
• Right-click the start on input switch to allow it only when recording.
• Fine time shift knob now automatable (can now do shuffle using internal controllers).
• Peak meters optionally in dB format (see General Settings).
• Added quick preset randomizing & hybridize mode for plugins.
• Improved pattern humanizer.
• Improved global beat slicing (layering).
• Added Select linked channels option & FX track renaming (see Effects Window).
• Project bones now includes automation as well.
• Master sync output now sends MIDI continue message instead of MIDI start.
• Mouse wheel now scrolls Step Sequencer's Keyboard Editor view.
• MIDI activity LED now blinks yellow if the MIDI message wasn't handled (assigned to nothing).

New or updated plugins:

• New Fruity Fast Dist effect plugin (same distortion as for the TS404 generator).
• New Fruity Soft Clipper effect plugin.
• New Fruit Kick synthesizer plugin.
• Improved Fruity slicer plugin (added 'fill gaps' option & slice reversing).
• Improved Fruity wrapper plugins (Cubase FXB import/export support)
• Added sample start to Fruity granulizer plugin.
• MIDI out plugin supports channel aftertouch (and also redesigned visually).
