ENVIRONMENT SETTINGS
General Settings
The General Settings page contains miscellaneous options and settings of the
working environment in FruityLoops.
- Skin - Lets you choose a skin for FruityLoops.
System:
- Associate FLP files - Associates
FruityLoops loop files with FruityLoops (so they will be opened by FruityLoops
when double-clicked).
Miscellaneous:
- Auto Channel Naming - Automatically assigns
a suitable name to the channels. If it's a Sampler, it takes the name of the
sample it contains, else the channels take the name of the generator. If a
name repeats with the name of another channel, FruityLoops will put a number
after the name (for example - "Kick", "Kick #1", "Kick #2" etc.).
- Auto Empty Channel Zipping - FruityLoops will
automatically zip all empty channels and unzip all non-empty channels when
switching between patterns. Empty is considered a pattern that does not contain
active notes and notes in the Piano Roll.
- Auto Scroll Long Patterns - If the Step
Sequencer is not resized so the whole pattern fits inside, turning this
option on will make FruityLoops automatically scroll the view, so the playing
position is always visible.
- Visual Feedback in Step Sequencer - When
turned on, the Step Sequencer note buttons will blink when played.
- Ultrasmooth Visual Feedback - When turned
on, FruityLoops will update the playing position indicators smoothly.
- Use Both Mouse Buttons - If this is unchecked,
left mouse click both sets on and off dots in the Step Sequencer. If turned
on, left-click turns a dot on, while right-click turns it off.
- Don't Limit Windows to Screen - This option
is designated for users with multiple monitor PC configurations. It should
be turned off on single monitor PC-s.
- Startup Splash Screen - If turned off, FruityLoops
will not show its splash screen on startup.
- No Directories in Sample Browser - When turned
on, directories will not show in the Browser. All
files will appear as being in one big folder instead.
- Fast Sample Preview - When turned on, FruityLoops
will not preload the entire sample before playing it (useful for big samples).
- Peak Meters in DB - This option switches to
DB format for the FruityLoops peak meters (when the pointer is over the peak
meter), as opposed to showing the volume like a percent value (0-100%).
