Overview

MSDN subscriptions are an annual membership product with three subscription levels designed to ensure that developers are kept up-to-date with the latest programming tools, technologies, and information from Microsoft.

MSDN Subscriptions offer comprehensive, timely, and convenient access to Microsoft Visual Tools, essential technical programming information, Microsoft operating systems, software development kits (SDKs), device driver kits (DDKs), Microsoft Office Developer, Visual Studio, BackOffice® Test Platform, and much more so you are prepared for any development challenge. Also, you will receive updates, select betas, and new releases shipped throughout the year. Please note: Microsoft product support is not available on pre-release or beta software shipments included in MSDN Subscriptions.

The three levels of membership are:

• MSDN Universal subscription
• MSDN Professional subscription
• MSDN Library subscription

North American MSDN subscription benefits include:

• MSDN Subscriber Downloads : Subscribers will receive access to MSDN Subscriber Downloads, which provides exclusive and timely access to the latest MSDN subscription content.
• Technical Phone Support : Subscribers receive unlimited Library setup and configuration support. However, Professional Subscribers receive two Priority Comprehensive Support incidents and Universal Subscribers receive four. These are to be used in a test and/or development environment only.
• MSDN News: All subscribers receive a subscription to the bi-monthly MSDN News chock full of technical articles, product reviews, sample code, and insider tips and tricks. Or check out the online version of MSDN News Online
• Microsoft Press Publisher Discount : Subscribers receive a 20 percent discount on Microsoft Press® orders. In the United States, call (800) MSPRESS, Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. In Canada, call (800) 268-2222, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Standard Time.
