Welcome to the Driver Developers Kits web site, which provides the most current public releases of the DDKs for the Microsoft« Windows« family of operating systems.

You can download a DDK or browse DDK documentation online at no charge. New content for Windows 2000 will be added on a regular basis. Please return to the site regularly for updates.

Windows 2000 DDK 
Windows NT 5.0 has changed its name to Windows 2000 

  • This name change will be reflected in future Beta releases of the DDK.

    Windows NT 5.0 Beta 2 DDK 
    Driver developers kit for creating WDM, printer, storage, video, audio, networking, and other drivers for Windows NT 5.0 Beta 2. The Windows NT 5.0 Beta 2 DDK  is available for download, free of charge.

    Windows 98 DDK  Updated!
    Available now: Driver developers kit and debugger symbols for updating existing VxDs and generating WDM drivers for Windows 98. This is the Windows 98 DDK  that ships with the April 1999 quarterly MSDN release.

    Windows NT 4.0 DDK 
    The Windows NT 4.0 DDK is available as a free of charge download.

    Special Kits 
    Information on focused kits such as IFS, DirectX, and modem development.

    Other DDKs
    DDKs for Windows 95 and other archival or legacy DDKs are available only through MSDN Professional Subscription.
