Ecological Village Association

Our association was formed at the end of 1986 with two aims: to act as a forum for people throughout Sweden who are interested in ecological building and living; and to see that at least one ecological village is built within easy commuting distance of Stockholm.

We have published an 80-page report on ecological building, we organise quarterly meetings and conferences, collaborate with various institutions, and are in touch with around 70 eco-village groups around the country.

We have not yet seen the birth of an ecological village in Stockholm. But we have around 15 active groups conducting discussions with various local authorities and regular regional meetings in both Stockholm and Gothenburg.
