Missing people's photos on taxis and shopping bags

Item from a Sydney magazine (Australia), monitored for the Institute by Valerie Yule.

Photographs of missing people will be printed on tens of millions of plastic supermarket shopping bags under a plan by police and retailers to find the people.

Several major supermarket chains, including retail giant Woolworths, have already expressed interest in the scheme, which follows the highly successful Operation Taxi set up last month.

Already one Sydney teenage runaway has been found by the project which features photographs of missing people on the back of taxis in capital cities.

In the latest scheme, planned by Mr Charlie Yip of Adantos Pty Ltd, a Sydney-based consulting firm, at least one photograph of a missing person will be featured on one side of white plastic shopping bags.
