Personnel management at Microsoft is instructive: every six months the members of each development group rate each other, and the lowest 5 per cent are fired.

Or so is alleged in the 1993 book Computer Wars by Charles Ferguson and Charles Morris, published by Times Books, Random House, monitored for the Institute by Roger Knights.
