Wimps and Wumps

Valerie Yule enjoys creating new words. She writes: 'Words become flesh. And unless they are constantly renewed with the spirit, they are subject to decay and distortion. The future begins in our minds.' The following is one such word, from the draft of her book in progress, The Oz Book of Ideas.

A Wump I define as someone who labels other people as wimps, as in 'feral wumps are largely responsible for the extinction of that rare bird, the gentleman'.
