Stress leads to illness in children

Adapted extract from an article by Meredith Small entitled 'Bringing up baby' in New Scientist (June 24th '95).

Mark Flinn from the University of Missouri has found that children have a threefold increase in the probability of coming down with an upper respiratory infection, if within seven days of having a high stress event.
