'Heaven on Earth' is the first 'Design-your-life-and-death' shop in the UK. They have two major items to enhance one's daily life. For interiors they have their 'Embodiment Chests-cum-Coffins', and for the exterior, the 'Swinging Affair' garden seat.
The Embodiment Chests can be custom-made and decorated to suit a particular interior colour scheme and because they are not the conventional coffin-shape they can be used in a variety of creative ways such as a bookcase, coffee table, window seat, blanket box, wine-rack, etc, in fact for storage of any kind. The chests are supplied in the most environmentally-friendly materials: strand-board at £150 or 0% formaldehyde fibre-board at £195. These can be hand-painted at £250, spray-painted at £325, with a metallic finish at £395. They come with or without rope handles and headrests to suit requirements.
Paula Rainey-Crofts, who runs Heaven on Earth, writes that 'our specially designed Embodiment Chests are part of a total package to enable you to design-your-own-death at half the cost of the conventional channels, because they are intended to be doubly functional: buy one now and make any use of it you like, until you need it as your coffin.
'As well as our own chests we sell the whole range of coffins from the cheapest Compakta cardboard coffins at £75, the Swiss Peace Box, which includes lining £125, and regular coffin-shaped oak veneered chipboard coffins £150.'
