Crisis Cards for mental health emergencies

Adapted from an article by Steve Bennett in the Brent Recorder (Dec. 2nd '92).

Brent Mental Health User Group are issuing Crisis Cards for those Brent residents who are afraid that they will be taken to a psychiatric institute, drugged and held against their will if they have an emotional breakdown. The Crisis Card will contain the name of somebody whom the holder trusts to ensure that their needs are met in case of a 'mental health emergency'. Psychiatric workers will also be able to see at a glance what actions patients would like to be taken while they are unable to communicate their action directly.
