A prison magazine with 200,000 circulation

Based on an article by Jolie Solomon in Newsweek (Oct. 26th '92).

In November '92, Joe Strahl launched a magazine for American prisoners called Prison Life. Articles range from 'Should we kill kids who kill?' to 'Conjugal visits: Why not?'.

Strahl expects to sell 200,000 issues of the bimonthly glossy by subscription to prisoners and at newstands near prisons, and he is mailing brochures to wardens, chaplains and librarians. He is also beginning to succeed in getting advertising, from companies who make body-building supplements and others.
