Electronic Arts buy up Westwood Studios
During last week it emerged that Electronic Arts and Westwood Studios have signed an agreement resulting in EA buying up all outstanding stock of Westwood Studios.
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of September
What does this mean for Acorn users? Well R-Comp have had successful dealing with EA this year, and it might mean a few of the classic Westwood games could make their way over to our platform.
Amongst Westwoods successful catalogue of games is one of the best selling Computer Games of all time, the one game that Acorn Users have been crying out for a conversion for years, the Command & Conquer series!

Last year's biggest selling Playstation game finally made it to the PC today.
Final Fantasy VII is a huge RPG where you lead Cloud and his team on a mission to save a city from the evil clutches of the Shinra Corporation, but this soon leads to a race to save the planet.
The graphics on the Playstation version were mind-blowing, and the PC version features all the usual 3Dfx enhancements.

I have just found out about possibly the most ridiculous total conversion of Quake 2 known to date. This conversion replaces all the characters and levels with images from the Wizard of Oz!
