Archimedes BASIC Compiler

ABC is the only serious BASIC compiler available for the Acorn platform. It is especially suited to the professional user who requires the speed and protection of a compiled language whilst retaining the flexibility of using an interpreted language during the development process.

Version 3 of ABC includes many more features, helping the developer make the most efficient use of the Archimedes.

Compilation now takes place as a RISC OS task with a dialogue box showing progress through the code. This enables the user to carry on with other jobs at the same time. Several compilations can take place simultaneously if necessary, ideal for overnight compilation of several modules.

Version 3 has support for the creation of relocatable modules allowing star commands to be implemented. In addition, modules containing libraries of BASIC procedures and functions can be created and called from any other program compiled with ABC.

This latter feature can be used in conjunction with Genesis to extend the Script Language by creating external commands.
