Open Session Dialog

This dialog appears when you select File > Open or the Open Existing Session   button in the toolbar. From this dialog you can open a previously-saved session. If you saved a session (table or report), you can open it and continue monitoring from that point on or review the results of that session.

Note: If you want to continue monitoring for an existing session, you need to activate the Polling Interval. Select Tools > Settings to access the PMon2 Settings dialog and change the Polling Interval field to a value other than zero (0).

Port Monitor Files

Port Monitor (PMon2.exe) automatically generates the following report files:

These reports appear hourly/daily after you start a session. They will not be available when you first start Port Monitor.

Note that these reports are overwritten each time a new report is generated. You may want to create a script to copy the report to another directory for review at a later time. If you do this, ensure that old files are regularly deleted so that you do not run out of disk space.

You can also save the collected data to a report file (.pms) when you exit the PMon2 program so you do not lose any accumulated data.

The PMon2 Settings Dialog provides additional reporting options. From this dialog you can request a new report to be created at a specified interval to keep track of events over time. The name of this report is PMon2_<date>_<time>.pms (where <date> and <time> specify when the report was saved). You can also select an option for PMon2 to automatically save a duplicate copy of each report in text format. The text file is not readable by PMon2 and is intended for people who do not have access to PMon2.
