Select the settings that you want from the PMon2 Settings dialog as your default settings. These settings define the behavior of PMon2. Use this dialog to configure the settings for the current session (table).
When you are finished selecting your settings, click the OK button to dismiss the PMon2 Settings dialog.
OK - Saves the changes and exits the dialog.
Cancel - Discards the changes and exits the dialog.
Default Settings - Click this button to restore the default settings on this dialog.
This panel displays the selectable settings for PMon2. When you select a preference it immediately becomes the default option for general PMon2 behavior.
Save Settings on Exit - When selected, saves the current settings when you exit the application.
Toolbar - When selected, automatically displays the toolbar.
Status Bar - When selected, automatically displays the status bar.
Ask for Confirmation on Exit - When selected, prompts for confirmation when you exit the application.
ASCII report type - Specifies how ASCII files are created.
Full Version - Saves all information available for each port in the ASCII report regardless of how it currently appears in the user interface.
Selected Version - Saves only the information from the columns currently displayed in the user interface.
Maximum Throughput
- Specifies the maximum baud rate used by the progress bar for
the Actual Throughput column.
The percentage meter on the progress bar relies on this value. The default
is 115200. For meaningful statistics gathering, you want this value to
be equal to or greater than the baud rate for the fastest device connected
to the selected ports.
Note: You will not see any changes to the progress bar until
the time specified in the Polling Interval
elapses.
Polling Interval (sec) - Specifies the polling interval in seconds. The main window displays various statistics on port usage. The statistics are gathered from the Comtrol port software on a periodic basis defined by the polling interval. The rate at which polling occurs can be adjusted to suit your needs. The default polling interval is once every 2 seconds. That is the rate at which statistics are refreshed. Select zero (0) to disable the polling interval. See CPU Utilization for more information on the polling interval.
This panel displays the selectable settings for report generation. When you select a setting it immediately becomes the default setting for that report. All reports are saved in the Reports folder.
Save an ASCII Copy of each report - When selected, PMon2 automatically saves a duplicate copy of each report in text format. The text file is not readable by PMon2 and is intended for people who do not have access to PMon2.
Create / Update an hourly report - When selected, PMon2 creates a report called PMon2_Hourly_Report.pms at the end of an hour and updates that report at the end of each subsequent hour.
Create / Update a daily report - When selected, PMon2 creates a report called PMon2_Daily_Report.pms at the end of the day and updates that report at the end of each subsequent day.
Create a report every <xx> minutes - When selected, PMon2 creates a new report at the end of the specified number of minutes (where <xx> specifies the number of minutes) and creates a new report every <xx> minutes. The name of this report is PMon2_<date>_<time>.pms (where <date> and <time> specify when the report was saved). You can use multiple reports to keep track of events over time.
