System setup is shown in my signature. Add the Spectrum card
to that. I'm running a "plain jane" OS 3.5 install with all
hacks/patches/enhancements removed.

How come you're not using the pass-thru port ???

I never had any installed in the first place since this
Spectrum is the very first gfx card I've ever owned for an
Amiga. Clean system in that regard.

You didn't use Picasso96Mode _FIRST_ and "Attach Settings To
Monitor" selection ????

That's almost exactly what I did, except I attached the
settings to the Spectrum first. Rebooted again and then
continued on with the screen mode selection. That's where
my problems lie.

Mode: 800x600x16bit
Problems: 1) Mode too big to fit on my picture tube, so that
needs adjusting, but I'll do that later.
2) Icons drawn at random all over the screen. Most
of them are even split vertically (top piece in
one place, and bottom piece in another place on
the screen).
3) Text shows up as black rectangles, unreadable.
4) Mouse pointer is a big, square, moveable block
instead of my usual arrow.

I'm totally stuck, and beginning to think that it's hardware
related. That really sucks 'cause it means I'll have to
return the card and the Zorro board, which won't make my
dealer very happy. That's just too bad, though, 'cause I
wanna refund for stuff that doesn't work.

I'm fresh out of ideas as I've tried everything I can think
of to get it working.

Anyone have any ideas ?
