Thanks. I'll have to check out those utilities you've listed. I am running WbCtrl right now.

I started playing with icons again today and even with WbCtrl in place my system froze a number of times. Each time I was trying to move more than one icon from a window by dropping them on a directory's icon. I would group select, drop them, the mouse image would change to the busy pointer, then the system would freeze. Ten minutes later there would be no change so I would do a CNTRL-A-A.

I haven't seen the symptom I'd seen before where an icon would disappear while I was making a fine adjustment on it's position, followed by the system freezing when I clicked once anywhere on the WorkBench. Maybe this thing was fixed by running WbCtrl.
