Maybe it's because I haven't installed many patches :) (though there may be
some really cool ones out there...), only some of which I think are
basically needed (dunno if they really are, just my own guess)..

I don't mean you personally. I was talking of the discussion in general and
the tone ppl use(d) to talk to each other. It's not interesting reading those
mails as there's no real information in it. Talk privately if you want to
discuss that way (ppl in general).

That's indeed true, see above. But as someone on another ML suggested: read
the mail and think about the content. Is it necessary to answer or is it
already said/answered in another mail. Would your mail be of use or just
keep the ML busy with nothing? A good suggestion I think as this would
reduce such threats. And, a mail hasn't to be answered just after finishing
reading it. Take some time, maybe more than 5 minutes if needed for a good
answer. This gives also to calm down if the read stuff upsets someone.

I am.

As we're talking about Fast memory loss. Whenever I boot/reboot my system
the free Fast Mem always changes. This can result in one and a half MB more or
less. The size ranges from 85,5 MB to 84 MB of free Fast Mem. It varies
randomly. Any idea about this?

Wolfgang
