about "[amigaOS3_5] Re: Memory Use with BB1<good news update?>". My reply is thus...
Hi Moses,

Yes it is.
MW> suspect still seems to be T.H.E.) that causes it. The first time I
MW> rebooted did not clear it out, but the second time did.
Not here since I don't use WB. I use DOpus in WB replacement mode.
MW> I am still not sure. Gotta go back to work before my Amiga gets me
MW> into trouble again...
I found it.
Do you StackAttack???
That was it here. Commenting out StackAttack from my U-S returned the lost
7 megs of RAM. The line in U-S was...
DH1:C/StackAttack MINSTACK=200000 ADDSTACK=1000 >NIL:
I set my stack to 200K early in my S-S so I probably don't need StackAttack
anyhow. I existed for years without it, and only started using it in the
last year. I wasn't having stack problems but it seemed like a good idea at
the time.
So, OS 3.5/BB1 is not at fault. In light of this, I urge everyone to check
all third party apps before blaming OS 3.5. Yes, we are used to and want
backwards comaptibility, however, some things need to change. We have seen
many many programs over the years that don't survive OS updates.
