I'm aware of the beta approach, however, after a few years of testing the next
step in the cycle is to release the product. And from what I read it
apparently skipped one release and jumped straight into the next beta. This
would be so annoying if MUI wasn't using the keyfile/continual upgrade
approach to distribution.

Is not MUI a custom GUI itsself? So how can a custom GUI not surpass MUI?

But would they need to be configured as often? I don't like the generic
super-GUI approach MUI has.
