| Subject: | Printer units, network printing |
Hi all!
With the new printer system in OS3.5 I can define 10 different units to
print to (allthough only one can be used at once). Most programs do not
let you decide what unit to print to, and only use prt: device. How do
I set the default unit? I suspect there is no way, and that hitting "print"
in my apps always send data to unit 0. Am I right?
My solution is to create a commodity, like the one found in prt42 on aminet,
where you can set default printer unit, manage printer spools, redirect
certain documents to other printer unit etc.
IMHO it�s about time AmigaOS get better support for network printers, but
I dont expect mircles. Anyways, if someone has managed to get OS3.5 printer
system to work with NetPar on aminet, please let me know :)
