BLUES COACH RICH MANNINGFor the second consecutive season, Blues Staff Coach Rich Manning has successfully guided his Los Alamitos High School Girl's Team to the top of the mountain. The Griffins won back to back CIF championships defeating Hart High School by a score of 3-1.
Blues players who took part in the championship were Los Angeles Times Orange County 1997 player of the year Sommer Hammoud (U18, UCLA), junior forward Brittany Savelkoul (U17), and junior fullback Carrie Hawkins (U17). As evidence of the excellence of the Blues Coaching Staff, Rich Manning was named Coach of the Year by the Los Angeles Times & Orange County Register.
