Wheelock College

Ed 654: Field Study in Marine Science

This course is taught by Michael Williamson, WhaleNet PI, and is offered through Wheelock College, Boston, Mass. Ed 654 teaches general marine ecology while focusing on the various whale populations. The course is taught daily for a two week period in August aboard the Capt. Red out of Newburyport, Massachusetts.

STUDY WHALES IN BAJA, MEXICO IN WINTER
or LONGUE POINTE DE MINGAN, QUEBEC IN SUMMER

A special session of ED 654 is being offered in Baja, Mexico during February and March, 1998. Experience Baja and study marine life in the area. The summer course in Longue Pointe de Mingan, Quebec, on the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, offers unique experiences with blue, humpback and fin whales as well as dolphins, seals and sea birds. The course is being offered in conjunction with the Mingan Island Cetacean Study research and WhaleNet/Wheelock College.

Simmons College
Tropical Biology Field Trip

This course explores the interrelationships of marine organisms and their environment. The six week summer course includes: lecture and laboratory components ( 5 weeks at Simmons College ) and field trip experience ( 1 week at the Bahamian Marine Field Station on San Salvador Island ).
