Echolocation

Echolocation is a sound that a whale sends out. If it hit anything, it bounces back and the whale knows to dodge the object. Every whale has a different sound. Here are a couple of them: click, eeeee, mmmm. When the echolocation bounces back, it echoes in the whale's air sacs.

Since a whale can't see very well, they use echolocation. They use it at night or when the water is all dusty. If whales didn't have echolocation, they couldn't find food or do almost anything. They might die.
