The Microsoft Year 2000 Resource Center Product Guide details specific Year 2000 information concerning Microsoft products. The information in the product guide is presented to assist IT professionals in planning their transition to the Year 2000.

The products represented in this guide constitute an incomplete list of Microsoft products. Microsoft will continually update this guide with the most current Year 2000 test information.

Compliance Information for Microsoft Products

Microsoft has classified the products it has tested into these categories:
Category Description
Compliant The product meets Microsoft's standard of compliance as indicated with the following symbols applied, as appropriate:
* The product is compliant with recommended customer action. This indicates a prerequisite action is recommended which may include loading a software update or reading a document.
# The product is compliant with an acceptable deviations from Microsoft's standard of compliance. An acceptable deviation does not affect the core functionality, data integrity, stability, or reliability of the product.
+ The product is compliant with pending Year 2000 software updates. Future maintenance actions will be recommended shortly. See Product Guide for further details.
Not Compliant The product does not meet Microsoft's standard of compliance

Note: Compliance ratings given for each product assume that all recommended actions have been taken.

Microsoft has also classified its application development tools based upon a tool's ability to develop applications that adhere to the Microsoft year 2000 compliance criteria.
Can compliant applications be built with this tool? Description
Yes The product provides functionality that enables applications to be built which meet Microsoft's standard of compliance.  Date handling characteristics need to be understood and applied appropriately.  The product may have a prerequisite or service pack required.
No The product does not enable developers to build applications which meet Microsoft's standard of compliance. Some disclosed exceptions affect the core functionality of the tool as it relates to date handling in applications.
