Investigate (Software Programs)
Consider the software programs (applications) that are important to you. This includes software programs that are from Microsoft, as well as programs that were created by other software vendors.

For each Microsoft software program that you plan to use after the year 2000 arrives, find its version by doing one of the following:
  • Choose "About [Product Name]" at the bottom of the Help menu of that program to see its version.
  • Or run the Microsoft Product Analyzer.
Do not forget to consider software programs that were custom-developed specifically for you or your business. Custom programs are often critical to household or business functioning, and they may have year 2000 problems hidden in them.
