WELCOME

...to the net.disc for July, 1997.

There are two reasons that we strongly recommend you use this disc with Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE): 1) it lets you launch applications from the browser window (a feature not supported by Netscape); and 2) we are now using cascading style sheets on the net.disc. So, in order to get the most out of this CD, you'll need to use IE.

Now, just because we recommend IE doesn't mean that you can't view these discs using Netscape's venerable and much-loved browser, Navigator - because you can.

You'll find a copy of Internet Explorer in the MSIE folder. Keep in mind that there is a difference of about two months between the time we put the disc together and the time it hits the newsstands, so for the very latest versions, go to Microsoft's site.

For any issues related to this disc, go to support.imagine-inc.com/.

Special thanks to Kevin Cooke, The Net's new associate digital media editor (who did a great job in his first month working on the net.disc!), and Tom Hale (aka "Mr. Life-Saver-Guy").

Please send any thoughts, comments, or ideas about the editorial side of the net.disc to cdrom@thenet-usa.com

Enjoy the disc!
