THE FEEDBACK
I think I've been over your entire site and all I can say is WOW! "What began as a mild mannored, casually constructed document intended to aid fellow peers in their endevors has now become a raging beast of a web site, bent upon mass-methodical domination of C++ in all its forms."
just looking for a refresher in c++ for a job interview (its been a while).
thanks ... great job

your should have a section on functions prototypes. I know its created headaches for our class.
It's easy to understand. great! I like it. Thanks.
Excellent Page. I have a C++ exam coming up and the book we have sucks!
It's kinda scary, but, I have enjoyed learning (and printing) from your page. Believe me, I DO have a life. I am taking C++ in college and the instructor has a difficult time TEACHING. He thinks that saying the same thing VERY LOUD will explain it! Speaking different languages creates problems in itself! What you have here so far has helped.... huuuuuummmmmm...how 'bout starting from the VERY beginning!!!!
Your page kicks ass, man ... seriously.
NEIL ROCKS AND SO DOES HIS PAGE
This page helped me finally understand call by reference functions!
Student at University of Limerick, Ireland.
Yourwork is a great help
Go raibh mile maith agat?

What can I say besides thank you for making such a page, I've just started with Visual C++ and I first want to learn C++ Code, well you know what I mean. Thanks again, keep up the work :-)
It is boring to read your array tutorial cuz it is so so so long and I think I am just tired and sleepy, however it is realllly helpful ;-)
Your tutorial is too easy. Please cover something with more substance.
Cool page.. am new to C++, and are finding the things useful.. thanks a lot for putting the thing up..
I just want to say "thanx" for making a non-profit web site for the purpose in teaching total strangers a very complex(at least I think it's complicated)programming language. And yet, have fun doing so(I envy you).Just to let you know, there are'nt too many human beings like you left on this planet. Thanks again for having such a lovely set-up and helping me in looking foward to learning C++.
cool
I really not only enjoying your each and every page rather I learn a lot. I am a bit new into C++ programming, nothwithstanding, I have written a few small C++ program but still I could not figure out many of this C++'s seceret weapon. Tahnks for everything.
I just finished one section & found it very interesting & understandable. I think it might be better if you print the output of the programs. Thank you very much.
Great pages! I learnt a lot - thanks.
Hi, I am in a intro C++ class at the University of Pittsburgh. I stumbled on your page my searching for C++ tutorials. I think that it's great that you put the time and energy to help others who are learning C++.
I liked the tutorial and they way you set it up. The funny jokes made it more interesting and I was not bored. I also like the scenario with the floppy and th e drive, very smart. Add more stuff about classes and loops.
Wow! You did an excelent job on these tutorials. I really appreciate them! I just went and bought Visual C++ 6 and had no idea how to do anything! Thanx alot, and keep up the good work!
As I wrote you last time that how wonderful is your home page. I by the way suggest that If you put more examples then understanding different parts of C++ will be more easy.
I just wanted to express my appreciation for the information on your c++ page. I'm sure many new cs students share my appreciation.
Bajalo
A very good tutorial.
hey, nice page, real informative!
dear sir,
as a computer student trying to find his way in c++ , ur page is the best thing to come my way, your great effort and hard work just made it easy to learn my abC :)

Very impressive page!!
Hey DeadEye,
Just wanted to "drop you a line" to thank you profusely for clearifying Arrays. I am currently taking c++ (My first programming class ever) and the text book sometimes falls short as a beginners book. I will probably be a regular at this site. Thanks again!!!!

Very good for a person like me just starting off. You put it in plain english. It will be a good site for me to refer to in the furtue.
luv u'r site!
i'm in my first year of programming and have found your site really helpful! =)

This is a great site! I love the humor. Keep up the great work.
the best site i've seen in a while - an d i fucking seen a lot by now :(
Thanks to you, I didn't fail my exam, but got 74 out of 100! Pretty cool, ha?
I just wanted to add how much I appreciate your help.
Maybe now I can actually learn something

this page rules.. i used it in my c++ class so that i could understand what my professor was teaching.. i like how you use common everyday language.. makes it easier to understand.
I wish I had found your page at the start of the semester, your great! I actually found this trying to get help with 2 and 3 dimensional arrays...did I miss them on your page, or are they just not there (say it isn't so !?!?!) Again, site is fab, oyu give me new hope for my programming future:-)
I can really understand the way u are teaching, its very good and can help many people.
SWEET PAGE!!! I am on that never ending quest to learn how to program, and this page really helped! Be sure to let me know when you add more to it, particulary to the classes part, because that is the area I have been strugling in.

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the data. Im taking an introductory C++ class now and this has helped to fill in some of the gaps not filled.
you are incredible! thank you sooooooooooooo much for this web page... my computer science (supposedly "Intro to" class) is killing me... every one else in my class has had at least three years of high school experience as background to this class... fo rme this is my first run into the realm of computer science...

I thank you becuase I understand you... you make this foreign language understandable... I just thought I wold let you know :)

Your Page help me a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a struggling cs major @ the University of texas

Thanks for all your efforts on this web page if it hasn't been of any help to anyone else it has to me!! thanks again!
Hi! GREAT page! I intend to read every word you have written! I just started today and it is most informative!
Hey Thanks for this page back when a 286 was hot, I used Borland Turbo c. Then I got annoyed with the cost and rapid demand for hardware (386-486-pent.). I bailed out for awhile. Now with my new system I've become bored with net multimedia so on and so forth.Looking in to C again, I found compilers to be high priced, so I'm trying the djuhh compiler. It will pry be a bit of a learning curve for which will be fun and interesting. I'm sure once I get this djwhat compiler figured out and installed. This page is going to catch it from me. Brushing up on syntax and advancements that have come along in C.
love ur site...
I found this page great & very helpful to me.
Thank you very much.

I really enjoyed reading your tutorials (fantastic refresher - it's been 11 years.) Superb job!
Thanks for your assistance and hard work.
your C++ pages are just cool!!
I cant understand so much with the fat 5000+pages C++ books, but i get the point here. Nice teaching !

I wana just thank you for your page.
It has been very usful for me.
From SWEDEN

I like your layout, and your pages load very quickly. I think you have done a very nice job using tables to separate different things. Your tutorials are also well written, and easy to understand. I think you have done a wonderful job on your site!
I find it useful.Keep up the good work.
just beging
thanks

This looks really good but many people probably don't have time to read the pages seperately. Any chance of a .zipfile?
IT IS REALLY GODD AND HELPFUL. CAN YOU CLARIFY ALL THREE LOOPS MORE IN DETAILS. THAT WILL BE REALLY HELPFUL FOR THE BEGINEERS LIKE ME.
hey, nice page!!

Really easy to understand.. good logic too.. =)

I am about to print out you C++ stuff off your page. I haven't seen the explainations yet, but your disclaimer is hilarious! I foresee some amusing learning!! hehe! Good job. I'll email you about the actual C++ explaination as well.
Dear writer,
Your programm has helped me alot, cause at the moment i am the university of northumbria at newcastle and i am having a trouble time underestanding C++ cause i never had any experience before so i was wondering if you could give me some information or any help how to underestand them, I am very intesrested to learn C++.

hey--I'm learning how to program in C++ in intro to computers. your site was very helpful. thanks!
You have a great writing ability. I stand in awe. Are you writing anything about binary trees?
I have enjoyed your site. I'm a "IT" wannabee and pursuit of BA in computer science at this moment. I'm taking C++ part 1 this semester and your site as helped me answer some of my questions that the book can't or in between class sessions. Thanks....
Neil!
Thank you for your page! It helpedme a lot tounderstandmore C++ concepts and is a good page to visit and study...

Thanks for your site. Hope it helps me, I've just found it. I'm trying to understand pointers/arrays -- going to be bald soon if I don't get it figured out. I see you're from Wa. Washington seems to be the home of some well known techno-nerds.

Thanks again for your offer of assistance.

Neil,
Thank you so much. I wish I had you for my instructor. I found this site surfing and I must say that you really facilitate my learning. Thank you for being there for us future programmers. We Love U Mannn :)

I enjoy your pages a lot. Our present lecturer kind of takes the pleasure out of programming for me. But your style of writing reassures me that i am not a complete dummy.
u'r site is really cool!I am just beginner in C++.Your site is very informative.I am looking forward to any more additions you may have.
Dear Neil,

Just a quick thanks because even in Three-Rivers, QuΘbec, Canada, it is possible to get a teacher that should be locked in a dark room, to write code and not to teach. We have learned most of C++ not from our course but from internet tutorials. Just thought you'd like to know !

Off to code again

Neil...Great Site...I would like to have permission to use some of your info on C++ for my C++ class. (Before I become one of those teachers you mentioned earlier) haha
Hi..
Your page is really something =)
I can't believe I can actually enjoy learning C++ like this =)

So.. do you have any other tutorials around ?

Would love to see them..

Btw, can I put a link from my page to your page ? So that more people can 'enjoy' learning ? =)

Hi Neil,

I recently found your C++ tutorial website, and I think it's a great and well-needed resource for those of us who are trying to make sense out of all this object-oriented methodology. I also appreciate your off-the-wall humor as well.

Dear Ladies & Gentlemen,
First thanks you for putting up such a good website it has really helped me with my class. But, unfortunatly he went over a concept that confused the hell out of me tonight. If you could would you explain the concept of a quick sort for arrays. I appreciate your Help.

Nice page!! Very educational and entertaining. Too bad I didn't found your page earlier. It would help with my grade.
i love C++ and i have the same problem of incompetent teaching. i have read almost 700 pages in my textbook now and i am grasping the beginnings of C++.
Thanks alot for your site.

I just read the structures section and it was easier than my school textbook to follow.

Hi Neil,
Thanks for sharing your fine knowledge!

Your page looks like a good reference for once I learn C++... right now I agree with your opening statement. My instructor couln't teach a dog to shit. I would like to see a very simple guide to C++ with very simple language for people who don't know it at all (I can't find one anywhere).
Hi,
God I wish you were teaching me! My instuctor's notion of teaching me programming -- for the 1st time -- is to read aloud from the text, advising us what to underline!

i study C++
your source is very helpful.

thank you!!

Well..after reading your section on strings, I could just as easily "kiss you"!!! You make this stuff so much easier to understand than the professor as well as the book. You are a groovy guy!!!
Whatz up, I'm a C++ programmer from the caribbean and I just think you page is cool. I'm from Trinidad and Tobago. We have quite a few programmers here. I just wanted to make a few international programming puddies .... Keep up the cool stuff.
Nice page!
It helps me a lot. I'm a CompSci Student here in the Philippines and I find your site very interesting. I'm a sophomore and still believing that I can have my dreams fulfilled. Thank you very much!

dear neil,
i just wanted to thank you for the tutorial on cpp arrays. i am a beginner programmer & my prof completely lost us when he began this section of the course. i will be sure to let my classmates know about your site!! i now feel confident to write the dreaded program! i will stop by again next time i get stuck, keep up the good work!
heidi

I luckily stumbled onto this site. It's great! I have background in QBASIC and I am presently taking a course in Visual Basic. Your site is enjoyable to read, unlike my incompetent teacher who gave me a 1000 page book,on C++,and basically said "Read". I must say this is an excellent site! I have bookmarked it so I can come back and teach myself C++ thanx to your help. I was also wondering if I could copy and paste some of your "articles", because after an extensive amount of time of staring at this blasted monitor, my eyes feel like they're gonna fall out of their sockets.
thanx it was really wonder ful
Thanks for such a nice web site
and I hope you will try best in future.

I just can across your web page, I find it very informational. It will come in handy in the near future. a future programmer.
Excellent, excellent page! But i bet you already knew that from all the people that have written in... :) One suggestion: i am not often online and dont get the chance to surf a lot. It would be a very good thing for people in the same situation as me to make a downloadable (offline-reading) version of this site... ie. chuck all the html (or anything else) in one big zip...it would be VERY good. It is still a DAMN good site though!
Like the style & content!
Keep it up, and thanks

Ran across your site, and I can relate to horrible teaching of this subject from so-called professors. Keep up the GREAT work
Neil
All I can say, your brilliant ! Keep up the good work. I truly look forward to your down to earth teaching approach and visible clarity. It has de-mystified the stigmas in particular to classes and structures. Thank You Neil ...May we have more people like you rather than the fraudelent gobbledegook teachers around....From ******* (down under in Oz)

I wish I stumbled upon your page last quarter, I probably would have gotten a better grade than a C+ (no pun intended).
Dear Neil .. you are just funny, objective and illustrative. I can actually understand all that you write about without any obfuscation.
Cool Site!!

Ever try to get a job for IDG Books and making your own version of C++ For Dummies?

I've spent time off and on trying to learn C. I'm fluent in Basic, VB, VBA, assorted macro languages, and even PERL. But there was always something about C which I couldn't get a firm grasp of. Your 'drilling' style of teaching along with the great analogies helped me to break that barrier. Now I'm looking forward to future articles.

Your book references were a huge help! I bought 'C for Dummies' as soon as I was finished searching your website.
Excellent piece of work.
I just want to thank you for your C++ page. I am one of those college students(grad actually) who has not learned the language because the teachers can not teach it. Your page is clear and makes it easy for anyone to learn the language.
Dear Author,
I am a student from India. I'll learning c++ from your site. Thanks. Regards.

This is a great site !! Keep it up Neil
Hi man, this is wonderfull! You're right, you're better learn by yourself... Greatest page, but It's kind of hard cause my english is not very good... ;)
Just to subscribe. Oh! yes and to tell you THANK YOU!!
thanks for the great site
Hey Neil,

Thanks for your help on that game... It was a group project and my part was cool but my partner messed up on hers...oh well I guess B+ isn't too bad...

Just like to let you know that I think your page is wonderful! Not only is it well organized, but it contains easy to follow information relevent to some of the more confusing aspects of C++. Let's just say that it took me 5 minutes to read thru what you wrote about references and pointers versus several days of agonizing over my REALLY poorly written text book and consulting my instructor who has verbal diahrea (he tells you about just about everything and anything not relevant to what you're asking :P )

Thanks again! You saved me :)

Nice site, looking forward to the newletter.
Absolutely fantastic. I love your site, and it's taught me a few things I couldn't handle. Congratulations! - Confusing Manifestation (ConMan)
Thank you, Neil!
Hey i just would like to say that you have a nice page with some pretty good button icons that actually go with the way things should be. I would also like to inform you that i had an error from your jave script when i first loaded the page you might want to look into that little problem.

Thanks for the good resources.

sign me up..please...
by the way great site for a c++ newbee like myself..take care..

thanks because this homepage
Just wanted to say that I looked at the first page and already I feel better about my programming course. This rocks.
This is my first visit to your site. Although I am a begginer but the looks of this site are encouraging. Kindly keep it up. I shall soon be bothering you with questions. Thanks.
Really cool site!
I like you have founded it difficult to find good quality tutorial books most of them work on the weight to price index, bigger books, more money, less information, crap explanations, wear you out give up buy new book (loop). By the time you done reading them you have to re-read them because they have beat the life out of an idea or concept and you forgot word all started. Anyway, the site neat and I thought you should get a little pat on the back for doing a good job.

Thanks for the response, I can't wait to see the article on the "Experts". I am an EE and they are IS programmers that work on our "Enterprise" code. (I have asked if it is NCC or USS but they look at me funny, guess these guys don't get paid to have a sense of humor.) Anywho, I am taking small classes here and there to get some C++ experience in. I am allowed to write some code if it makes my work (Yield Enhancement Engineer) easier. But when I show my code to them for advice I sometimes am overwhelmed by the vocabulary that these guys use! Seriously, some of the techniques and concepts are so foreign to me that I wonder if we grew up on the same planet. I have been hobby coding assembly and C for years (10 maybe and never that seriously). Then I here of "polymorphic glue coding" and "singleton parameter generality prototyping" and start laughing because I think they are bulls***ing me with "StarTrek Technospeak" and come to find out they are serious! If you ever need a new section of articles, make a glossary for this stuff so I will know when to laugh and when to keep a straight face!
in your reference section, might it be a good time to mention the snippet "pass by reference" and "pass by value". I think this is what you mean in the Array section. Believe it or not, when I finally started to understand your reference section, these snippets that I mentioned came into clarity with such force as to nearly knock me out of my chair. I have read and read and read them before but it didn't sink in and I sorta knew what they were talking about but it wasn't a good type of clarity. Now, I feel more confident when I read about reference passing for some things and value passing for others.
Buy a copy of ANSI/ISO/IEC 14882:1998 for $18.00 US at http://webstore.ansi.org/ansidocstore/shopper_lookup.asp. That is what defines "portable" and "proper". ... To make up for another's incompetence in teaching C++, you build a web site where you can't be bothered with correct C++? Some improvement.
this is the best , most clear tutorial for C++ I have found. thank you!
I would like to subscribe to your free newsletter!

Great site by the way, the best I have seen! Thank You

Hi, I liked your effort.Cool.
I am a Master's level student at Southen University at New Orleans, I must receive a "B" or higher grade inorder to graduate. I have droped this class twice. I hope this web site can help me. Thanks Hey, Neil...
I am a college student struggling w/ C++. Visited your C++ homepage, though not in-depth, but I can tell it WILL help me a lot. Just want to honor your innovative effort. Keep going!

Thank you for writing me back and answering my questions.
Very good site... i find it very useful... especially because i work with c++ programming in scool. The only thing thah's missing is a chapter about "Fileusing".... read/write from/to files and so on...
At the top of your 'Contact & Guidlines' section (http://www.cyclone7.com/cpp/cguide.html) you apparently added an exra 'r' to 'Intro' (Intror). Just thought I'd let you know. Your site's great. Keep it up.
U people are providing a great stuff
Please carry on.

All I can say is WOW. Great web design especially the cotact form and the C++ info is awesome.
You don't have to reply to this, but I just want to let you know this is the best designed programming site I've ever seen. Everything is smooth and very well presented, the contents is excellent and above all, I've learnt a lot. Thanks a lot.
Great site! Spended most of the day here. Looking forward to reading any new stuff. Keep up the good work.
you guys have a very nice and clean site, keep up the great work.
I can relate to the incompetence of C++ instructors. I have two at my school who no nothing about what they teach. So thank you for the site it has come in handy in times that I needed answers that they could not provide. Thank you.
thank you finaaly some one who knows what it is like to be taught by incompetant jerks who treat you as if your the one who has the problem.
Hi!! The site looks a bit different.. very nice! Please subscribe me to your newsletter, you were such a big help last semester and I'm positive you'll be great now too!! And please call me Unnur, that's my name and that's what I'm called!! Bye!!
Interesting Site.
nice site
Thank you for a wonderful site. It really helped me out.
... thanks for a user-friendly site for hackers such as myself.
This page helps a lot...... I will be taking my second semester of C++ this semester! Data Structures OOH....AAH
hi again!
I just wanted to add that even though I'm in 9th grade, this page is very helpful, we are just starting arrays. I also include this link for a project on helpful C++ sites. So you'll probably get a few more visitors, but you site's popularity, you probably won't notice the difference. As a suggestion, for your next update, it would be nice if you continued on with pointers, that's the one main area of C++ I don't really understand. Thanx alot!

PS. Of the sites I've found, this is by far the best. (Please don't think I'm trying to suck-up) I'll shut up now.

Your page is a really great resource. I've had to do a report on C++ tutorial sites for comp sci so I've been looking at all different ones and this is really the best. I just wanted to say that I am really impressed. Your site is so well-organized and you really do a good job explaining stuff. If I had trouble with C++, this would be a really helpful site!
I'm a student in my second semester of computer science. Your site has helped me and I want more!!!!
Thank you for your site.
Thank You for making C++ easier to understand. Much better than my teacher.
nice web page I am just a beginner and am starting to learn arrays do you have a function for standard deviation that is what the teach wants us to put in our first array like i want to figure math on my virgin journey into arrays
great site!
have keen intrest in learning c/c++

Hey Bud,
Great sight, I'm impressed and in need of adult dipers from all the laughing you made me do.

its nice to see your site is available for download so as not have to leech it i wish more people would do it -- thanks
I just want to subscribe to the newsletter, but I must say... this is ONE STUNNING SITE!! It's oh so clear!!
Hey Neil. Like your site very much.
My experience with an instructor was similar. I was looking at computing programming as a possible career move, but by the time the course instructor got done "weeding out" his quota of students for the semester, many of us were totally frustrated with the lack of help we received as beginning students. Thanks for developing this site. Now that I have some interest back after that rotten experience, maybe I can learn better this time around. I'm not sure I'll make it a career move at this point, but I enjoy learning new things just for my own edification.
I was reading through your array section and found it quite interesting and helpful than god.
This tutorial was very enlightening and it was also fun to go through. As a beginner to the more complexed stuff the humour made it more relaxing and more interesting. GOOD JOB :)))
Thanks this help me a lot to understand Arrays. I am doing C++ as a hobby and hope to write some good programs one day.
Just a note to let you know what a saint you are. Thank you so much for making this wonderful page- you sir are my hero.
You know what ? I really needed a tutorial about C++ lately and browsing through the net, I found yours........ only one thing to say : GREAT ! Beside as a teacher, I really appreciated the way you present things ( minus your "comments", of course ) : Simple but going straigh to the essential....... Anyway, I might need some help about that so I'll probably send you some email....... Keep it up, you're doing something really helpful..... Thanks Neil 1
As a struggling C++ student, I applaud your effort. I find your tutorials funny and readable, not like a certain text (How to code C++ (or something like that)) by Deitel and Deitel... Keep up the good work!
It appears that we may have the same C++ instructors...

I would like to assist you if you needed or desired it. I would like to support this site as much as possible seeing how there are so many lousy teachers out there...

Thanks for a great site on C++. I am a beginner, and your site has been very useful.

Have a greatday.

Absolutely excellent page, Neil. I wish all my profs were as clearly spoken....
Cool man, Thanks!!
Do you really do this on your spare time?

A C tutorial site that actually makes sense!
I like your site!
Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

I just wanted to say that you have a very good teaching gift. I am a student at Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. I am currently studying C++. I was having a bit of trouble getting my head around arrays. After using your lessons, they seem pretty easy to understand. I have bookmarked your site and also saved the URL to a disc just in case.
Thanks for your presence on the Net.

I've found your tutorial very helpful. Some faculty I'm familiar with could do themselves a favor and inherit your teaching methods. I'm studying Information Technology and was wondering if you could recommend sites specializing in Java tutorials in Layman terms. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the help, great site!
Thank you, you have helped me understand this better so I can pass my test.
Thanks a lot..!
Hi there!

I am beginner on C++ and I think your site is the greatest, keep It up.

Hello, i just want to say, SWEET site design, i hope unlike all the others your site will help me learn C++, i am a good programmer. Nice site, i have made sites but failed with content, oh well..
thanks alot man this page is awesome for reference
I look your page.
This is a better page, that I see

Congratulations

I am currently learning C++ and really enjoy your site. It's slick and well-designed.
I thouroughly enjoyed this site. U explain things in a simple manner unlike most programming books out there, well at least the ones ive came by.
Just to express my thanks for your good effort. I am teaching myself programming in C++, and efforts of people like you go a long way to assist autodidactiques like me. I have read some of the emails that others have posted to you and I am amazed that some people take things so much for granted, practically asking you to do their "homework" for them. My view is those C++ articles that you posted on the Web are just like implements or tools. When you have been given the tools, then use your own hands to do the job, making use of the tools. When you encounter a huge boulder, only then you get back to the toolmaker and tell him, "hey, I got this big boulder... You got a better tool? The ones you gave can't do this particular job".

Metaphors aside, I have just a little comment: Sometimes, you can be very verbose. Maybe that's you style. Or maybe I lack a sense of humour. However, may I suggest that you put the verbiage in Italics, to distinguish it from the core concepts.

Once again, I than you for your good efforts. Keep it up.

I think this site is great. I had a bad experience learning C++ at my school too and it's kept me behind. I think I'll be visiting this site more often.
I was just getting into your tutorial on pointers, hopng to get to something on linked lists involvng pointers which I am having a nightmare understanding, when I nearly cried to find that it is unfinished. Please help me. Any 'pointers for dummies' articles you feel sympathetic enough to write would be most appreciated!
Your site is nothing short of outstanding. Thanks for putting things in layman's terms for knuckle heads like myself. I do have one suggestion though; could you do a tutorial on the differences between C and C++. I am currently taking C in college and really enjoying it and I would like more info on the differences between C && C++. Thanks again Matt
I am glad to find your website. I am taking an online course in C++ through a local college. My instructor is impossible to get in touch with so I'm hoping I'll get something from your website that I don't understand in the book.
I just would like to say thank you! I'm a beginner trying to teach myself. You've inspired me! (and I like your sense of humor.
This is nice site....
havent opened but would let u know how good the tutorial is
I appreciate the presentation of the web page, it is very easy to follow. I wish to learn more about c++ may your patience be stretch for a beginner like me.
Hello Mr. Neil,
I saw your c++ page. It's wonderful.I would like to let you know that you have done wonderful job. I just encounter today and I am planning to spend at least 5 hours per week to go through it thourly. Well, I am computer science major in Detroit,Michigan. And I am taking data structer in C++ next semester. So, I might come up with some question than. If I ask you through e-mail how long do you take to answer the question? I am eagerly waiting for your reply.

I have to say that I really appreciate user-friendly sites that have some point to them. I have a college professor who doesn't know cout from cin, and I've had to teach myself everything. Your site has been one of my resources. Nice job.
A great page, Im learning C!
Hey this is a great resource, keep up the good work
I just wanted to say good job. I am teaching myself c and c++ with books and stuff. Coming to your site cleared up alot for me. Thanks.
i wanna learn
do they teach?
i wanna job
within my reach!
if i cannot c++
oh, what a fuss
so for now
HOLY COW
back to the ++

Extra brownie points to Jack Park for making me chuckle (writing the above)

Couple of things....
1) Excellent idea and site. Your application is clear and concise, your pages well thought out and well laid out.
2. Your brother definitely has talent. Is he going to follow it through?
3.I think the concept of zipping the whole site for download and later perusal at leisure is both excellent and pragmatic.

Hello :-)

By the way, I found your web page very useful. I'm taking the C++ course right now and to tell you the truth, your web page has helped me out more than my book and the instructor (who doesn't teach a thing) put together...Thank You! Believe it or not, you've helped me out tremendously! The reason why I'm writing this (and don't worry, it's not to have you write a program :-) ) is to ask you when you will have the section up on "Sorting" and "Multi-Dimensional Arrays" in the Advanced Arrays section on your web page? Up until then, everything on your web site was covered in my class. Or if you have any sort of information on these things topics already typed, I would love to see them.

Thanks again :-)

Hello: I found your site useful if a little basic. I recently posted a problem I had on a newsgroup and recieved certain replies that you might find useful in maintaining your site. The replies concern strings. As this site is about C++ as opposed to C I think it should include a fair bit on one of the C++ string classes. I , like yourself, had been useing C-style strings(char arrays) and when I posted my question on the C++ newsgroup I recieved many replies that didnt pertain to my problem but criticised my use of char arrays. According to these knowledgable ppl I should be using string classes, as char arrarys were now mostly outdated and cumbersome, that most "proper" C++ lectures should only mention char arrays in passing. So maybe a section on the string classes then - effectivly the equivilant of a C++ string data type. One last thing :) They also objected to my use of void main()... apparently this is WRONG and leads to some ambigousness. *shrug*. int main () o! r just plain main() is correct. Hope you find this informing and perhaps useful. Cheers
