Ah, nothing quite like it...
A book. Something that you can stain the pages of, that you can use to hit people with, that you can fall asleep on. There's not quite anything that still compares to the antique nicety of a good book. Here I'm listing books from Amazon.COM that I found at least partially useful. I give my own review next to each book so you can choose something that I like or one that I don't really like just to spite me . Also, if you would like a printed version of this site and/or it on a CD then email me the request.

Books
Everyone's always got their opinions on books. As the Joker said in Batman: "You know how people are these days; this is attractive, that is not ... but that is all behind me now. I make art until someone dies. I am the first fully functioning homicidal artist." Okay, well not all of that relates, but you get the idea.

The books below are ones that I recommend for various reasons. The biggest being that I own most of the ones listed below, and the rest are on my christmas list (oooh I want the C++ How To Program, just need mula - hope Santa can get me dat).

If you see a book you want to buy then simply click on it and it will take you to Amazon whereby you will find more detailed information. Very easy (and safe), I've already bought like two or three things through Amazon.

C For Dummies (2 Vol. Set)

Okay, I know this is a C book, but its just great! My friend (through my bro) Mark D. Best (nicest man alive I SWEAR) gave me Borland C++ 5 and this book. If you're a beginner then you've GOT to get this! I literally (no joking) read the first book and understood all the concepts within three days. Within three days I had made a text adventure game! Its not only easy to read, its FUN to read. Dan Gookin is by far the greatest technical writer. I never read the second volume, but if you're a beginner then GET THIS! And if you do read the second volume, tell me what its like . By the way, I do not recommend C++ For Dummies, it stinks like a witch's broom stick.

C++ In Plain English

I think the title pretty much sums up this book. Its very inexpensive, in fact I bought it when Foozles (a book store) was having a sale and it only cost me about eight bucks! I think for the price its the best money I've ever spent on a C++ book. There are a couple technical errors, but I think in lew of the entire book they are very minor and easy to work around. Its not a book you can read as a beginner, its more like a humanastic reference. For those times when you don't understand something you just take a look at it in this book and you get the basic grasp of it! Why I bought this book? I was having trouble understanding virtual functions at the time: I picked it up, read what it said and BAM I understood. Very cool. I bought it immediately.

C How To Program

I was required to buy this book for my introductory "C Programming" course at Centralia College. At first I was apalled because the book is so terribly cryptic. Later I found it to be a good reference. Although it is mainly for "C" there is a great deal of C++ and in fact the last 1/5 of the book is dedicated purely to that. The bottom line, if you can do all the exercises (of which there are TONS!) no sweat then you are probably on your way to being a guru of C++ *patting you on the back*. Its also expensive, but its huge also so if you have the change to spare then I give you my recommendation! I use this in conjunction with C++ In Plain English to solve most of my problems.

C++ How To Program

I'm going to buy this book actually, so after I read it I'll try to write a review on it. From the reviews I read it sounds basically like the first one except focusing soley on C++.

The Complete Java Training Course

Unrelated, but in review *chuckle*.

Not yet reviewed ... would someone like to?

I modified Amazon's basic search form to look nicer. I think you'll agree it does and I guarantee you won't find another site on the internet with this same form *tee hee*.
