Set scanner and camera options
Scanner and camera options define the performance mode used by your computer when it downloads your pictures from a scanner or digital camera. Choose from the following performance modes:
- Enhanced mode uses your computer's memory to download pictures faster than the normal mode.
- Normal mode does not use your computer's memory and downloads pictures slower than the enhanced mode.
To set scanner options:

On the Tools menu, click Options.
The Options dialog box appears.

Click Scanner and camera options.

Under Scanner performance, click Normal or Enhanced.

Click OK, and then click OK again.
To set camera options:

On the Tools menu, click Options.
The Options dialog box appears.

Click Scanner and camera options.

Under Camera performance, click Normal or Enhanced.

Click OK, and then click OK again.
Note
If you experience problems downloading pictures using the enhanced mode, set the performance mode to normal and try again.
