Resize an object or picture
Make an objectA part of a picture, including shapes, text boxes, or lines that can be edited individually. The order of objects can be changed by using the Stack. larger or smaller by dragging its resize handlesA location on the outline of an unlocked, selected object, indicated by a yellow circle. Resize handles occupy the four corners and midpoints of the outline, and are used to resize the object horizontally, vertically, and proportionally..
Resize a pictureGeneral term refers to a single photo or a composite project on the canvas. to make it larger or smaller. For example, turn a 3 x 5-inch picture into an 8 x 10-inch picture, or customize the picture to fit an odd-sized frame.
To resize an object manually:

Select the object you want to resize.
If the object is locked to the canvas, right-click the object on the StackThe palette in the workspace that shows the layering order of objects. and click Unlock.

Pause over any resize handle until the pointer changes to
.

Drag the resize handle toward or away from the center of the object or picture.
To resize a picture:

SelectTo identify the part of the picture you want to work on. Using the selection tools, you can select multiple objects, single objects, or part of an object. the picture you want to resize.

On the Format menu, click Resize Image.
- Click the setting you want to preserve, and then adjust one or both of the other settings to resize the image.

Click Done.

By default, corner resize handles resize the object while maintaining its original porportions. Pressing SHIFT while you drag a corner resize handle resizes the object without maintaining the proportions.

Side resize handles do not maintain the proportions of the object.

Pressing ALT while you drag a side resize handle anchors the opposite two corners and allows you to skew the object in any direction.

so that your image will not lose any of its original visual information. The initial pixel dimensions reflect the quality of the original image. If you lock a different setting and change one of the remaining values, the pixel dimensions will change and you may lose data that cannot be regained.
- The setting you lock during a resize task remains in effect the next time you open the Image Resize task pane. Be careful to choose settings that are appropriate to the resize task every time you do the task.
- To resize the picture without maintaining its original proportions, click Resolution, clear the Maintain proportions check box, and then adjust the other settings.
