To open a blank picture:

On the File menu, click New.

Select a canvas size.
- Set the image size, pixel dimensions, or resolution.
- Click View advanced options.
The Resize Image task pane appears, displaying any dimensions already entered.
- Click one of the following to lock the setting:
- Image size
- Pixel dimensions
- Resolution
- Enter amounts for the settings you want to change.
- Click Done.
