Flatten objects
Flattening objectsA part of a picture, including shapes, text boxes, or lines that can be edited individually. The order of objects can be changed by using the Stack. merges the information from all of the selected objects into a single object. As a result of this consolidation, the StackThe palette in the workspace that shows the layering order of objects. will hold fewer objects and, therefore, be easier to work with. You can flatten either a few selected objects, or all of the objects. Note that flattening objects prevents you from changing or moving them.
To flatten objects:

Press CTRL, and then click each object you want to flatten.

On the Edit menu, click Flatten Selected Objects.
Caution
After you flatten a selection of objects, you cannot edit the original objects. Therefore, before flattening objects, position each of them in the desired location, edit them, and apply any effects you want to each object.
Tip
To flatten all of the objects, including the pictureGeneral term refers to a single photo or a composite project on the canvas., click Flatten All Objects on the Edit menu.
