Menus
Many functions of JukeItUp! are available through the menu system, indeed some functions are only accessible this way. The menu is brought up by either left clicking on the options button, or right clicking anywhere on JukeItUp! When you click on the options button, some of the menu items are greyed-out. These items are actions which are only relevant to a song. If you right click on a song button showing an mp3 you will see that 'Edit Song Data' and 'Save to WAV File' are now available because these are things that are only relevant to an mp3 file. If you right click on a song button showing a cd track then one more option appears - 'Save to MP3 File' - only meaningful for a cd track. The Options item opens out to a sub-menu to show all 3 options screens.
The whole menu structure is shown above, click on an area for specific information.
The About screen contains the version number for the copy of JukeItUp! you are running. If you have to enquire about a problem, please include this number with your query. The CopyID code given here will be needed if you wish to register JukeItUp! The About screen also gives access to the registration code entry area. See registration for more details.
Gives access to the playlist editor. The playlist editor can also be invoked by left clicking on the track counter window. See Playlist for more details.
Only available if a song button is right clicked. Gives access to the database record editor and the mp3 tag information. Allows you to edit details such as song title, artist name etc. Also shows how many times a song has been played. See Song Data Screen for more details.
The 12 channel graphic equaliser is presented in a floating window and is used for introducing special tonal effects to your mp3's. You may save equaliser set-ups for later recall. Note that the equaliser is only used during mp3 playback and will not affect other types of music.
The minibar is a small unobtrusive controller for JukeItUp! which can stay in a corner on top of other windows while you are working. See Control Functions for more details.
The Options menus give access to all of the setup choices which determine how JukeItUp! behaves. More details can be found in Options1, Options2, and Options3.
This item is only activated when you have right clicked a cd track or an mp3 file. If it is a cd track then it will rip the song from the cd and save it as a .wav file to your hard drive. The format is the standard Windows wav format at 44.1k sample rate, 16 bit stereo, and will be about 10Mbytes per minute of song length. The output wav file from an mp3 song is the same format for an mp3 of 128k bitrate or above, at lower bitrates the sampling rate will decrease to avoid wasting disk space. A rip can be aborted by pressing the ESC key. See CD Ripping & Encoding for more details.
This item is only activated when you have right clicked a cd track. The track will be ripped from the cd and saved to your hard drive as an mp3 format file. The bitrate will be set to the rate set on the Options3 screen. This screen also gives the option to write an mp3 tag to the file using the title etc from the song data record. A rip can be aborted by pressing the ESC key. For more information on ripping see CD Ripping & Encoding.
This entry duplicates the function of the button on the main skin and is provided here for skins which may not incorporate that button. Song Finder is a database display and editing utility which can show you the contents of your JukeItUp! song database. Song Finder has a help file of its own containing more details of its capabilities.
