The Amiga Vision

The Amiga vision is one that sees a transformed electronics industry built upon the foundations of the new Amiga: pure binary compatibility across multiple hardware platforms and host operating systems, rich and unprecedented digital media capabilities, and revolutionary scalability.

The Amiga revolution is enabled by society's desire to become more connected, by its need to fulfill more effective communication, and by its hunger for richer, more flexible digital media. As the original pioneer of multimedia computing, Amiga embodies a well-tested and intensely progressive understanding of digital media and interactivity.

Amiga recently distributed a Software Development Kit which allows software developers to create digital media software with unrivaled binary compatibility across platforms, using a choice of development tools, including Java(TM), VP (Virtual Processor code), or C/C++. This Software Development Kit is hosted on Linux, and has been received eagerly by developers around the world. Initial applications have already begun to show up on Amiga's FTP site.

Amiga is the first to offer a richly scalable and diverse, yet robust, digital media environment that runs on dozens of processors and operating systems, as well as natively. Thousands of developers are presently developing software using Amiga, as dozens of committed software publishers join the Amiga movement each week.

Amiga has forged strategic relationships with Tao Group, Sun Microsystems, Corel Corp., Red Hat, and Matrox in order to deliver a well-supported next generation of connected multimedia technology.
