We are travelling trough S-E Asia for quite a while now and
the next destination is Manado, Sulawesi. Has anyone an
idea how to get there from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur for a
reasonable price? Information about the cheapest Airline
carriers would be welcome. Thanks.

Well, there's only 1 carrier flying from Singapore to
Manado, namely Silk Air, so you'll have to take what they
offer.
From KL, Malaysian has flights to Ujung Pandang, then you
have to take a domestic flight to Manado.

The other writer I saw above had it right. Options from
Bangkok are:
1) Singapore Airlines to Singapore
Silk Air to Manado. It is sold as a combined package:
1) 1-month ticket, $300+ U.S.
2) 1-year ticket, $430+ U.S.
2) Train from Bangkok to Butterworth, Malaysia, high-speed
boat to Medan, and days or weeks of journeying on PELNI, the
Indonesian boat system.
3) Train to Singapore from Bangkok (48 hrs), boat to Batam
Island (Indonesia) and boats around Indonesia from there.
4) Garuda to Bali or Jakarta, and domestic flight to Manado.
5) Philippine Airlines to Manila, then PAL domestic to
Davao, and then one of the Indonesian airlines (Bouraq?)
flies Davo to Manado.
Hope the above offer some options. Just email me for more
details. SilkAir has a webpage, as does Singapore Airlines.
They have their schedules, fares, and a toll-free number in
the U.S.
Kind regards,
Rich
