Does anyone have any clue as to how many western women have been sexually assaulted in the Perhentian Islands? My LP guide for Malaysia and the Malaysian Tourist Office don't seem to be able to tell me. Anyone else out there able to speak from experience?

I have just left the islands'. Unless you walk through the jungle at night on your own then I can't see there being any problems. Of course if you walk around topless then yes you may encourage someone - just don't do it and respect the locals. The Islands' are beautiful and you'll have a great time.
