Can anyone tell me what the weather in Southern Thailand is
like in October. I know it's still wet season, but is it
really bad, or do you get a few sunny days?
Thanks
M

The weather in that area depends on which coastline you're
on. The west is at one month from the end of their rainy
season whereas the east is just going into it.
Sorry - I should have been more specific. I am looking at
going to Railay Beach, Phuket and Phi Phi in October.

It doesn't rain ALL the time in October. A Brit friend
acctually found Phuket quite pleasant at that time, compared
to soggy old England. On the positive side, prices will be
cheaper and the islands much less crowded (if that's the
word to even use). You may have scattered showers through
the day, but the sun comes out in between. Some days it may
not rain at all.
its great. mornings are usualy clear, it starts clouding
by noon with a afternoon thunderstorm. some days it never
rains at all. during rainy days it clears up around
early evening leaving for great sunsets. now the really
good news! there are half of the people on vacation
at this time which is a relief. a us100$ resort hotel
goes for $50. be careful though, the phuket surf is
very dangerous at this time due to the s.w. monsoon...
i was there in 92 enroute to the everest region, now i'll
be there again enroute to anapurna. if i see you at ned
kellys bar i'll buy you a beer.
