Diving lessons

Hello,
I am in doubt, please help... Should I take diving lessons
in Holland or do the lessons in Sulawesi where we will go at
the end of this year?
People told me that once you have the Padi certificate you
can dive to much better spots and do not waste time with
lessons.
Others say it is much nicer learning to dive in some
beautiful spot and not having to look at the swimming pool
tiles etc. What are your experiences???
Thanks for any info!

  1. PADI Open Water Added by: Nick (ningram10@hotmail.com)

    Hi,
I'm traveling to Sulawesi next week....
I chose to do my PADI Open Water Certificate here in the UK
because I didn't want to spend 2-3 days of my holiday in a
    class room.
To complete the course I had to do 2 weekends, 1 of confined
training (swimming pool) and the other open water in a
slimey green lake. Also had to take a test based on the
PADI manual. I only completed the course a couple of weeks
ago because I wasn't happy about the conditions (temperature
of the lake) back in February but now is good!
My advice is, if you have bags of time to kill on holiday
then do your course in Sulawesi, if not, then do your course
at home (remember it's one less thing to worry about).
