Can anyone tell me where is a good place (cheap / location)
on the Andaman side of Thailand (NOT Phuket!) to do a PADI
course? Any prices etc. would be appreciated...
Cheers
Rick

Check out the PADI site (which from memory is www.padi.com).
This lists heaps of authorised PADI dive organisations
throughout the world, including Thailand. There is also info
    about prices, accommodation etc.

Why not Phuket? I'm going there for a brief vacation in
June. I've heard that it's a bit of a tourist trap (and
now I'm bummed). Is it true?

Koh Toa is cheapest. Phuket is really good diving also.
