Are you a student? If so, STA is the way to go:
http://www.statravel.com They got me a roundtrip for $320,
including international taxes and such. Call the closest
branch even if you're not a student - they are really nice
and can find great deals that are cheaper than
what you'll find on the web. (Continental has the cheapest
flights I have found. They go through Houston.) If you can
beat $600, you are doing great. Good luck!

Lindsay is right on the money. I found a ticket for $290 to
Quito from New York. Its also on Continental, although to
get that pride you need to book it trhough some student
agency like STA or council travel. You can also try
priceline.com. Its a neat site, where you can NAME the
price you want to pay. Good Luck!!

Where are you leaving from? I've always found the best deals from DeTravel. What price did they quote you? My ticket was
$356 r/t Miami-Quito. I think you won't do much better unless you do the courier thing.

    Hi,
There's a site called www.skyauction.com that auctions off 4-10 LA/NY to Quito/Guayaquil tickets once a week. They usually go from $250 -$400. Bidding jumps up at the last 10 minutes. Otherwise, Miami, then Houston are the cheapest gateways.
    Good Luck!

Try Mena tours in Chicago, or Miami. They are a CONSOLIDATOR which is what gives the best prices. ( For more addresses try Moon`s Ecuador Guide.) They serve Continental & American. I paid $350 SFO- LIM . Now most any major US city to Lima is cheap. From Lima you can bus for $20 us to the border at Tumbes via Cruz del Sur or OrmeĀ±o bus companies on Javier Prado at the Freeway in Lima. From Huaquillas there are many cheap buses into Ecuador. Happy Trails!
