Visiting Peru in first half of July and wondering about a
few issues:
1) What is the best method of carrying currency (cash,
traveler's cheques, ATMs, etc.)?
2) What is status of flights in country (heard Aeroperu
might be getting back on its feet)?
3) Any advice for 3/4 day Amazon trip from Iquitos- should
I book before I get there,etc?
Any other advice appreciated.
Thanx

    2) Aeroperu are no longer viable. You'll have to pay more with Aerocontinente.
    1) Visa ATMs are easy to access anywhere in the country. It is usually better/safer to withdraw in $US in small denominations. You can then exchange on the street or in banks. The exchange rate on the street is higher (less secure though) than in banks. You'll need to get familiar with the "sol" as quickly as possible anyway. In general the sol is rougher and when you run your fingers over it it won't feel smooth like paper. It also won't tear if you pull it firmly.
