Hi.
I'm going back to Cuzco, this time with my mother ...
Can anyone recommend a good hotel there (up to 30 usd each)
A second issue is the flight, if arriving at 26 of July,
should we book tickets (Lima-Cuzco) before or just arrive
to Lima's airport, and continue on ...
Is it considerred the hot season then ?
Thakns,
Dalit.

I have been there both July and December. July - Aug -
Sept is certainly the high season: best weather (a bit
cool, but sunny and dry) in combination with the summer
vacation months for people in Northern Hemisphere. With
your mother it may be recommendable to make advance
reservations (flights + first days hotel), to avoid
inconvenience and save time. You can also see whats the
price difference between buying internal Peru flight from
your country and in Peru. Call limatours in
    Miraflores/Lima: +51 1 221-7755, www.limatours.com.pe, also
for advanced hotel reservations. They are one of the most
reputable travel agents, speak english, they can hold the
    tickets for you.

    A good hotel in Cuzco:
    .
There is a Dutch couple who have given up their life in Holland to start helping street kids in Cusco. They have legal custody over 12 kids now, and are helping others by giving clothes, food, etc. They are very down-to-earth, friendly people with a hands-on approach. The 12 kids that live with them go to school, karate lessons, the dentist, doctor, a psychologist, etc.
    .
They opened their own hotel last year in order to earn money of their own instead of depending solely on donations. It's been a success from the beginning so book well in advance, they're usually booked up. They are said to have the best beds and showers in Peru for a reasonable price. They are situated near the main Plaza de Armas. Say hi to Jolanda and Titus for me!!

I don't know the exact price for a room, but they are reasonable and you know that all the money goes to a good cause.

    Just returned from Cusco.
Stayed at the Santa Catalina, very near Plaza de Armas.
Cost $20-$30 USD. Comfortable, and has hot water all day
    through.
    Call Reynaldo on 51-84-235 780 or cellular: 51-84-621854 .
He works for Highlight Tours. He speaks perfect English and
is very reliable. He will book hotel for you plus tours, and
    can help with airline tickets.
Only Aerocontinente flies from Lima to Cusco now, and it is
impossible to book it from overseas, as no one seems to have
    an agreement with this airline.
The flights get booked out quickly, and it will be worse in
    the high tourist season.
There may be another airline flying in 3 months time,
    replacing Aeroperu.
Call Reynaldo, best time to call him is between 5-6 am Cusco
    time.
Say hi from Margo to him.
    All the best,
    Margo.
