Howdy folks,
I am travelling to Peru in June from Ireland, and am hoping
to do some climbing in the Cordillera Blanca area. I am
looking to hire guides and porters for at least three weeks
and there are four of us who climb to a reasonable level.
Does anyone have any advice as to price range for guides and
porters - and whether to book them before arriving in Peru
(will we be ripped off?). Also can you rent gear in Huaraz
(Plastic boots, stakes deadmen axes etc?). If anyone has
advice on good routes up to AD+ in the area IÆd appreciate
it also, or anything else that springs to mind. Thanks in
advance....

I could not make a better recomendation. Caraz is a little over an hour north of Huaraz. The town is more layback and quiet. Alberto knows what he is doing. If you want to do alittle mountain biking try
