We want to travel from Arica to Arequipa in Peru. Has
anyone done this recently and can they recommend the best
way to do it? Can it be done in one day?
Also can anyone recommend where to stay in Arica?

  1. Bus Arica-Arequipa Added by: Carlos (andesad@pipeline.com)

Walk over the border to Peru and catch a colectivo to Tacna. Catch any bus heading to Lima. They will go by Arequipa. The trip will take less than half a day and be very inexpensive. Orme±o and Cruz del Sur have the better busses

    I did the following:
1- taxi or "colectivo" (shared cab) from Arica to Tacna
(bargain the price) they stop by at a certain street in
    Arica
2- in Tacna whe took Aeroper· to Arequipa, we saved a lot
of time and it is very inexpensive as well (if taking the
airplane in Tacna DO negociate the cab price to the Airport
    beforhand)
    saludos
